85 years ago the Fraunhofer LBF shaped a completely new area of research and developed its competence center both in breath and depth based on experimental structural durability with a great deal of innovation force and high degree of dynamics continually in the last decade.

Around 400 employees, experts and specialists jointly contribute their know-how to interdisciplinary research. Developing constantly innovative solutions along the entire value chain, from the material and its processing, through the realization of the finished component and the complex system, to qualification regarding safety and reliability.
