For the first time in 34 years of Ukraine’s independence, our country is presenting a car prototype at an international motor show. This vehicle, part of the “Drive in Five” project, was created by the Mykolaiv-based company MeGoElectric UA, which has been manufacturing various types of electric vehicles for years, mainly trucks designed and built entirely from scratch.

The project was initiated by wheelchair users from across Ukraine, who won the right to present their innovation alongside a select group of international startups. Only a few dozen startups worldwide are chosen to exhibit at IAA, making this recognition a major achievement.

The same vehicle will also be featured at REHACARE in Düsseldorf (17–20 September), the leading global trade fair for rehabilitation and accessibility. Here, among over 10,000 exhibitors across nine halls, the Ukrainian prototype will be presented in the “Car of the Future” section.

Its unique feature: the vehicle lowers itself completely to ground level, allowing a wheelchair user to roll inside without ramps or lifts. The spacious 2.4 m interior accommodates two wheelchairs simultaneously, something unmatched by any current car model other than large converted vans.
