We will be presenting the Opt4E project on Monday and Tuesday and the TuWas project from Wednesday to Friday at the IAA.
Project Opt4E: The development of optimized electric drive units is still a major challenge today. Although there are powerful tools for designing individual components such as power electronics, the electric motor and the transmission, there are no methods for optimizing the overall system, taking into account the complex interactions. The aim of the research project is to develop methods and tools for the synthesis and optimization of EV powertrains based on KPIs such as costs, dynamics, efficiency and comfort. The resulting development platform enables an early evaluation of powertrain topologies, thereby shortening development cycles and making better use of resources. To achieve these goals, the companies AVL, BMW, LSP, Magna, Schaeffler, Strama-MPS and Vitesco are working together with chairs at TU Munich (FZG), TU Darmstadt (IMS) and the University of Hanover (IAL, IMKT) in the BMWE-funded Opt4E research project.
