Volvo Car Germany GmbH, headquartered in Cologne, has been the German sales company of the Swedish premium brand Volvo since 1958. Founded in 1927 in Gothenburg, Volvo stands for safety, quality, environmental protection, and Scandinavian design. Business customers benefit from individually tailored fleet solutions and attractive framework agreements. The company focuses on sustainable mobility with plug-in and mild-hybrid drivetrains, as well as a growing range of fully electric models. By 2030, electric cars and plug-in hybrids are expected to account for 90 to 100 percent of the Swedish premium car manufacturer’s global vehicle sales. The remaining share of up to ten percent will, if necessary, be covered by a limited number of mild-hybrid models. The goal is to achieve full climate neutrality by 2040. In 2024, Volvo Cars recorded global sales of more than 760,000 vehicles. The best-selling model was the Volvo XC60 with over 230,000 units, followed by the compact Volvo XC40 and the premium SUV Volvo XC90. The automaker sells vehicles in more than 100 countries and is regarded as a reliable partner for responsible mobility.
